Why should Harry and Meghan continue receiving $2.9 million a year from Duchy of Cornwall. This is an estate set for working royals, not for independent enterpreneurs living in Canada

Harry and Meghan will still receive Duchy of Cornwall …

 

Harry and Meghan decided to move to Canada and be independent entrepreneurs. They figured that they will bank on their royal titles and will be richer than they are now. This may or may not happen, depending whether the public will buy the trinkets they are selling. The people in Great Britain are not happy with Prince Harry leaving his country and may not buy anything he is selling, and people abroad might simply not care much about Harry and his Hollywood starlet wife.

Meanwhile, the queen stripped them of their royal titles, of public support and they will have to repay $3 million paid by the public for remodeling of their house.

However, I believe that they should also lose nearly $3 million a year they get from the Duchy of Cornwall. This is an estate set for Prince of Wales to support himself and his children, as working royals. Harry and Meghan are not working royals anymore, so in my opinion they should not be getting these $3million a year. Further, they should not be getting money for the security. There are conflicting accounts for what security cost is.  Daily Mail writes  “The taxpayer will continue to pay Prince Harry and Meghan‘s £7.6million-a-year security bill, it appears, even though the couple have dropped their HRH titles “.  So far, Harry and Meghan only gave up $100,000 a year they get from the public, but they did not give up $3 million a year they get from Prince Charles from the proceeds from the Duchy of Cornwall. Is this a real independence, when one is getting $3 million a year from his family? In my book it is a joke and a farce. This sounds like they are looking to eat the cake and have it whole. What do you think?
