Kathleen Genevieve Ledecky (/ləˈdɛki/; born March 17, 1997) is an American competitive swimmer. Ledecky is widely regarded as the greatest female swimmer of all time.[3] She has won six Olympic gold medals and 15 world championship gold medals, the most in history for a female swimmer. She is the world record holder in the women’s 400-, 800-, and 1500-meter freestyle (long course). She also holds the fastest-ever times in the women’s 500-, 1000-, 1500, and 1650-yard freestyle events.

In her international debut at the 2012 London Olympic Games as a 15-year-old, Ledecky unexpectedly won the gold medal in the women’s 800-metre freestyle. Four years later, she left Rio de Janeiro as the most decorated female athlete of the 2016 Olympic Games, with four gold medals, one silver medal, and two world records. In total, she has won 34 medals (28 golds, 5 silvers, and 1 bronze) in major international competitions, spanning the Summer Olympics, World Championships, and Pan Pacific Championships. During her career, she has broken fourteen world records.

Ledecky’s success has earned her Swimming World‘s Female World Swimmer of the Year a record-breaking five times. Ledecky was also named Associated Press Female Athlete of the Year in 2017, international female Champion of Champions by L’Équipe in 2014 and 2017, United States Olympic Committee Female Athlete of the Year in 2013, 2016 and 2017, and Sportswoman of the Year by the Women’s Sports Foundation in 2017.[4] Ledecky’s 11 individual gold medals at the World Aquatics Championships and 15 combined individual titles at the Olympics and World Aquatics Championships are records in women’s swimming.

Ledecky was born in Washington, D.C., and raised in the Maryland suburb of Bethesda, Maryland,[5] the daughter of Mary Gen (Hagan) and David Ledecky. Her paternal grandfather, Dr. Jaromír Ledecký PhD (1927–2011),[6] was born in Prague, Czechoslovakia (now Czech Republic), to Catholic parents who married at Kostel svaté Ludmily in Vinohrady.[7][8] His father was a quarter-Jewish procurator who had visited America in 1921.[9][10] Jaromír arrived in New York on 8 September 1947 as a student,[11] later becoming an economist, and married a Jewish woman in Brooklyn on 30 December 1956.[12][13][14][15] Ledecky’s mother is of Irish descent

    She’s not even close to being the most decorated female Olympian.

    Larissa Latynina of the USSR had 18, 9 of which were gold. Marit Bjørgen of Norway had 15, 8 of which were gold. By my count there are another 25 female Olympic medalists who won 9 or more medals.

    Orly, I want to show the world about the most prolific lady in the modern times…

    Her name is Rowdy Ronda Rousey, the 3 “R”…

    And she is the greatest wrestler in our time!

    And not only that, she is the most beautiful lady when she is all dressed up and ready to speak in society!

    I came across this lady within the last several months and I just love her ways of handling the Judo, kickboxing, and her ability to win every wrestling match in the ring!

    She is the epitime of the way a person should handle the work to win (“ALL!”) her matches that is aloud!

    She is only about 35…and she is all of the righteous ways of winning the matches she in!

    She uses the best thing, called the “armbar” which is the way of handling her apponents when she gets into the ring.

    She was recently together with one of the Olympic wrestlers called Curt Angle in a match against the owners of the ring and she was the person that won the final match of the day with this armbar!

    She is absolutely the best victory when she is in the ring!

    And she had thousands of the people rooting for her in the stadium!

    She is the real mccoy when she gets into the ring to win her victory!

    She’s never lost a match and she never has given up the match as she always finds a way to win!

    She and her husband have a child and is expecting another child.

    She is a real Champion!!
