I am all for equality, but not promotions without merit. See, how Misty Copeland is performing less than half of the pirouettes the other ballerinas are doing, yet she is promoted to be the leading ballerina

I am all for equality regardless of race or ethnicity, however we have to stop promoting people simply because they are black and we are afraid that we will be called racists if we do not promote them.

Case in point, Misty Copeland was promoted to be the prima ballerina, the leading ballerina of the American ballet theater. Somebody made a compilation of performances of the famous pas de deux (dance of a male and a female) in Swan Lake by Tchaikovsky.  This part show cases the technical strength of the leading ballerina, where she is required to do 32 pirouettes (turns) while standing in one place on the point of one foot. You can see that all the other ballerinas are performing required 32 turns. Copeland couldn’t do even half, she did only 12 turns, she simply does not have the technical strength to be the leading ballerina and clearly was promoted by the ABT to show that they are woke, that they are not racist. These promotions without merit only hurt the cause. It is time for people to stop being afraid that they will be called racists if they tell the truth.  The truth is the most important.

As this was in 2015 it’s nonsense to say it was all about being woke. And the ballet is highly choreographed and each dancer is assigned the number of pirouettes they must make. Plus the principal ballerina role involves much much more. You are on the wrong side of history here, which is especially regrettable given how Jews have long been treated in America
