George Floyd was repeatedly arrested for theft, drugs and robbery. In 2007 he went to prison for 5 years for robbery. This does not excuse excessive force, but might shed light on what might have happened before the video was shot. Toxicology report on George Floyd was not released yet

His life then took a different turn, with a string of arrests for theft and drug possession culminating in an armed robbery charge in 2007, for which he was sentenced to five years in prison.
