Katie Hobbs and her attorneys want $500,000 in sanctions from Kari Lake. I don’t believe the judge will grant them sanctions.
Sanctions are typically awarded when the court believes that the case brought by the plaintiff is frivolous. In this case the judge already found that the case is not frivolous when the judge denied Katy Hobbs’s motion to dismiss. The judge ruled that there was enough substance in the case to go to trial, so sanctions would not be justified
