I’ll have to take back what I said before. There does appear to be a virus that installs itself when this page is visited. It seems to be the dreaded Security Tool virus. Here is how to deal with it. If, after visiting a webpage, you get a small box announcing that Security Tool has been successfully installed, DO NOT click OK, and DO NOT click the X to close the box. Instead, do a System Restore immediately without closing any program or doing anything. You might first run the program MSconfig, and remove the Startup entry, which consists of a string of numbers. However, this does not remove the problem entirely, it simply might stop the program from starting. I haven’t tested this. Security Tool is a fake antivirus tool that really doesn’t do anything and simply makes it impossible to use your computer by filling your viewing area with dialog boxes that don’t go away no matter what you do. |
