    So…Wray shouldn’t resign? But Trump said he’d fire him on day 1. Except of course that he can’t because the FBI has to be headed by a Senate-confirmed person. And Patel isn’t.

    Just checked. If there isn’t a Senate-confirmed nominee when Wray leaves then the deputy director automatically becomes acting director. Wray is resigning instead of waiting to be fired. How is that sneaky? Maybe Gateway Pundit should check its facts.
