The SAVE Act (Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act), which requires proof of U.S. citizenship for federal voter registration, has a Senate companion bill: S.128 (introduced by Sen. Mike Lee, R-UT, in January 2025 for the 119th Congress).According to available data from congress.gov, it has 48 cosponsors (all Republicans, including original ones like Sens. Ted Cruz, Tom Cotton, etc.), out of the total 53 Republican senators (as of recent counts in 2025-2026 context).This means 5 Republican senators are not listed as cosponsors on the Senate version. However, recent public discussions and posts (including from advocacy groups and social media around early 2026) refer to 4 GOP senators who have not yet signed on or publicly supported it, often highlighted as holdouts amid pressure to pass related election security measures like the SAVE America Act variant that passed the House in February 2026.The four frequently mentioned as not signing onto or supporting the SAVE Act (or its iterations) in these contexts are:

  • Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) — She publicly stated opposition, citing concerns over federal overreach on state election authority.
  • Susan Collins (R-ME) — Often aligned with Murkowski on such issues; her office has indicated support for citizenship-only voting but reservations on the bill’s approach.

Senator Lee, you or any one of the 50 co-sponsors should bring a motion on Monday at the floor of the Senate to proceed with the debate on the SAVE act. You cannot wait for McConnell to bring it to the rules committee. You can and should bring it to the floor of the senate. You have 50 senators plus Vice President. You start the debate. The debate can be over within 3 days. Only Corey Booker, a showboat, may talk for 24 hours. The other 46 Dems will talk no more than an hour on average, which will take another 46 hours. That means that after 70 hours or 3 days total of a continuing session of a standing (talking) filibuster the Dems will be done, you will pass the SAVE act and will save the nation from the election fraud. Just do it!!! We are sick and tired of senate doing nothing. Poll after poll show that 84% of Americans want voter IDs.
