. The Texas Stock Exchange (TXSE), headquartered in Dallas, received approval from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on September 30, 2025, to operate as a national securities exchange.
Backed by major investors like BlackRock, Citadel Securities, Charles Schwab, and Fortress (with over $161 million raised), it aims to provide an alternative to the NYSE and Nasdaq, focusing on lower fees, stricter listing standards, and support for public companies, ETFs, and ADRs from the southeastern U.S.
Trading is slated to begin in late 2025, with the first company listings in 2026, and it expects to employ over 100 people at its Dallas site.
Additionally, the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) announced plans in 2025 to launch NYSE Texas, a fully electronic equities exchange also based in Dallas (reincorporating its Chicago operations). This complements TXSE and further positions Texas as a financial hub, driven by the state’s business-friendly policies and 52 Fortune 500 companies.
