You have to give it to Pompeo

Posted on | January 5, 2020 | No Comments

Chris Wallace asked Pompeo if impeachment is emboldening our enemies and making Trump appear weak on the world stage.
“Some analysts suggest that the impeachment of President Trump has emboldened enemies like Iran and North Korea to think they can confront him,” Wallace said. “Do you think that as misguided as it may be, that some of our enemies think that this president is more vulnerable because of the impeachment effort?”
Pompeo hit it out of the park with a very short and concise answer.
“You should ask Mr. Soliemani” Pompeo said with a straight face.

I figured what happened to 22 missing nominations- they were sent to the president for re-nomination

Posted on | January 5, 2020 | 2 Comments

I was trying to figure what happened to nominations of 22 judges that were listed as pending with the Judiciary Committee on January 2nd and are not listed today.

They were sent to the president for re-nomination under Senate rule XXXI paragraph 6

Nominations neither confirmed nor rejected during the session at which they are made shall not be acted upon at any succeeding session without being again made to the Senate by the President; and if the Senate shall adjourn or take a recess for more than thirty days, all nominations pending and not finally acted upon at the time of taking such adjournment or recess shall be returned by the Secretary to the President, and shall not again be considered unless they shall again be made to the Senate by the President.

President Trump will sign re-nomination in the next week or two and the total number of pending nominations of judges will  go up again from 11 to 33. There are 4 more pending nominations, which will increase the total to 37 pending nominations

22 nominations of federal judges disappeared from the list of judges awaiting confirmation in the Judiciary committee

Posted on | January 5, 2020 | No Comments

Until yesterday there were 33 nominations of federal judges awaiting confirmations: 5 awaiting confirmation by the full senate and 28 awaiting in the Judiciary committee.

Something very strange and suspicious happened in the last couple of days: 22 nominations disappeared without an explanation, now only 11 are awaiting confirmation: 5 still awaiting full senate confirmation and only 6 awaiting in the committee

Lindsey Graham needs to explain to the nation, what happened to 22 nominations that suddenly disappeared from the list of judges awaiting a vote in his committee

Here is info from January 2, it showed 33 nominations pending. Now it is only 11. What happened to the other 22?

Judicial Nominations

Every day, federal courts decide cases critical to our rights — from the environment to voting to immigration. Those who are appointed to serve on the bench must be qualified, fair, and impartial. Under President Trump, judicial vacancies are being filled at a breakneck speed, which could transform the federal courts. View updates on President Trump’s effort to push the federal bench to the right.
