Judge Napolitano: This is absolutely Stalinistic!… She has gagged Stone. It is one thing to gag the defendant during a trial. You don’t want them out there talking to the press and it’s a way of communicating with the jury. There is no jury. There is no trial. He’s been convicted. He’s been sentenced. The gag serves no legitimate governmental purpose. And yet she’s enforcing it on him and his lawyers. Question: why is the Bill Barr Department of Justice not opposing this secrecy and not opposing this gag rule?

SCHEDULE FOR TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 25, 2020

The Senate stands adjourned until 10:00am on Tuesday, February 25, 2020.

Following Leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of Executive Calendar #384, Robert Anthony Molloy, of the Virgin Islands, to be Judge for the District Court of the Virgin Islands, post-cloture. At 11:30am, there will be 3 roll call votes on (1) confirmation of the Molloy nomination and the motion to invoke cloture on the (2) Carreno-Coll and (3) MacGregor nominations.

The Senate will recess from 12:30pm until 2:15pm to allow for the weekly caucus meetings.

At 3:30pm, the Senate will vote on the following in the order listed:

1.      Motion to invoke cloture on the motion to proceed to Calendar #420, S.3275, A bill to amend title 18, United States Code, to protect pain-capable unborn children, and for other purposes (Graham)

2.      Motion to invoke cloture on the motion to proceed to Calendar #17, S.311, to prohibit a health care practitioner from failing to exercise the proper degree of care in the case of a child who survives an abortion or an attempted abortion (Sasse)

3.      Confirmation of Executive Calendar #491, Silvia Carreno-Coll, of Puerto Rico, to be United States District Judge for the District of Puerto Rico

4.      Confirmation of Executive Calendar #569, Katharine MacGregor, of Pennsylvania, to be Deputy Secretary of the Interior

5.      Motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #416, Travis Greaves, of the District of Columbia, to be a Judge of the United States Tax Court

Tuesday, February 25^th at 11:30am – 3 roll call votes:
