The bilateral meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping, held on the sidelines of the APEC summit in South Korea on October 30, 2025, lasted about 1 hour and 40 minutes.
Trump described it as “amazing” and rated it “12 out of 10,” expressing optimism for a broader U.S.-China trade deal “pretty soon.”
Xi struck a conciliatory tone, but neither leader issued detailed post-meeting statements.

No comprehensive trade truce was announced, but the session revived hopes for de-escalation after Trump’s pre-meeting threats of 100% tariffs on Chinese exports.
