Just as Moldova declared independence and seceded from the Soviet Union, Texas and other states can decede from the US particularly during the usurpation of the Presidency. Beware of an attempt by Obama regime to use military to stop the secession. Start gathering signatures for a national referendum in Texas

From wikipedia

The history of Moldova can be traced to the 1350s, when the Principality of Moldavia, the medieval precursor of modern Moldova and Romania, was founded. In 1812, following one of several Russian-Turkish wars, the eastern half of the principality, Bessarabia (where most of today’s Moldova is located), was annexed by the Russian Empire. In 1918, Bessarabia briefly became independent as the Moldavian Democratic Republic and united with Romania. In 1940 it was annexed by the Soviet Union, joined to the Moldavian ASSR, and became the Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic until the dissolution of the USSR. In 1991 the country declared independence as the Republic of Moldova.

In the climate of Mikhail Gorbachev‘s perestroika and glasnost, national sentiment escalated in the Moldavian SSR in 1988. In 1989, the Popular Front of Moldova was formed as an association of independent cultural and political groups and gained official recognition. The Popular Front organized a number of large demonstrations, which led to the designation of Moldovan as the official language of the MSSR on August 31, 1989 and a return to the Latin alphabet.[61]

In May 1991, the country’s official name was changed to the Republic of Moldova (Republica Moldova).[63] The name of the Supreme Soviet also was changed, to the Moldovan Parliament.

During the 1991 Soviet coup d’état attempt in Moscow against Mikhail Gorbachev, commanders of the Soviet Union’s Southwestern Theater of Military Operations attempted to impose a state of emergency in Moldova. They were overruled by the Moldovan government, which declared its support for Russian president Boris Yeltsin, who led the counter-coup in Moscow.[citation needed] On 27 August 1991, following the coup’s collapse, Moldova declared its independence from the Soviet Union.

Similarly, upon the national referendum in TX, the legislature of TX can declare independence from the United States, this declaration of Independence can be signed by the Governor of Texas and Texas can apply to join the United Nations as an independent state.

From 1940-1991, for 50 years Moldova was considered an equal republic of the Soviet Union, but was  de facto under occupation. All of the Soviet judges acted in a very similar fashion as the judges we see today in the US. The judges were just puppets of the regime, dispensed telephone justice, meaning followed orders from the regime. There were no rights until the independence was declared.

In 1992 Moldova as the other former Soviet Republics, became an independant nation member of the United Nations.

People, who are serious about secession of Texas and other states need to write to the United Nations, seek inclusion of Texas in the United Nations as an independent Nation-State.

This should be the beginning of the revolution of 2013 to protect and defend the US Constitution.
The only thing that stands in the way of a dictator,or potential dictator, in our country doing” we the people” serious harm and injury is the US Constitution(with its Bill of Rights.)
Potus Obama does not seem to grasp the seriousness of this simple truth.
The Constitution must be protected and defended at all costs. When I was sworn in the Army I had to take an oath to protect and defend the Constitution from enemies both foreign and domestic.
If an attack is made on the Constitution, whether internal or external,it must be repell ed.
This attack on religious liberty, contained in the mandate of Potus Obama’s healthcare law, must be fought at all costs.
If the Catholc Bishops do not stand up like they did in the past political battle and continue their opposition to this infringement of the right to religious freedom, they will be called out for what they will be–political
    opportunists.
This fight must be the beginning of the beginning of the fight to preserve our US Constitution from enemies
    both foreign and domestic

“I came from Moldova, a country which successfully and peacefully seceded from the Soviet Union. So did 13 other countries,”

First off, the breakup of the USSR wasn’t “secession”. Most of those countries had been incorporated into the USSR by force.

Second off, peaceful?? You might try taking to the people in the breakaway region of Transnistria. Or the people who rioted in 2009 after the elections there.

    “6 countries seceded from Yugoslavia”
Not peacefully though. As the people in Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, and Kosovo can attest to.

And there’s only five. Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Serbia and Montenegro, and Slovenia

“States can successfully and peacefully secede from the United States

States do not have the right of succession from the United States. Or else we would be talking about border policies with the Confederate States of America.

What happens if Gov of TX does not sign referendum ? How many states have to secede to dissolve the entire 50 united States?

Texas is not Transnistria and not Kosovo. I have no doubt that the secession of TX will be peaceful

If Texas really threatened to secede the first thing that would happen is that capital would flee. Banks would flee. Money would dry up. It would be chaos.

Your talk of secession is ridiculously childish and will be as successful as your ballot challenges have been.

Veritas, Col West is a True Patriot thru & thru. He knows Obama is a Communist. The media has never covered Zimbabwe and South Africa. If you aren’t familiar with what happened, research it. I used to do business in SA. It was a 1st World Country with a burgeoning GDP. It was on the same scale as the USA used to be before Obama. It is now a sub 3rd World crap hole. That is what Col West is referring to. He knows that is exactly where we are headed.

What makes you think that 34 is some sort of magic number, Orly? There is absolutely no legal mechanism for secession.

    To “Henry Kissinger”

According to the site below, secession has a legal basis.

Thank you, Rod. The secession movement actually gives hope, no matter WHAT comes of it. It shows that there are healthy,liberty-loving, hard working souls in America which STILL believe that we recipients of Divine Grace and UNALIENABLE RIGHTS…even if an “alien” tries to rescind them!

    Herr Kissinger: Falsch!

Unalienable rights transcend what you think is “impossible.”
