Regarding the establishment of a Bank of Washington State

What: Regarding the establishment of a Bank of Washington State
The latest dose of bonuses to Wall Street Bankers was $140,000,000,000 (Yes, $140 Billions in bonuses not the salaries). They made that money using YOUR MONEY! Ibrahin Soudy hosts Ibrahin’s Salon and he invites C4L members to share in this opportunity to learn about a subject we have been bandying about. He says you will not want to miss this film and discussion!
John Repp and Cindy Cole wrote the first draft of a bill to establish a Bank of Washington State that was introduced at the last legislative session. Since that time they have learned much more about banking and how a state bank would help Washington State.
The huge tax payer bailouts of the largest banks after the collapse of the financial system in 2008 has not translated into a recovery for the working people of this country. Credit is not flowing to small business and community banks are still failing, foreclosures continue unabated and unemployment remains high, wages stagnant or falling and state treasuries in deficit. The entities that caused the collapse are still in charge, financially and politically.
What can be done? One step is the creation of a public, not for profit bank, owned by the citizens of Washington State. A Bank of Washington State would be modeled after the Bank of North Dakota, the only existing state bank. North Dakota is the only state in the union with a state budget surplus, no community bank failures and an unemployment rate of around 4%. Credit is flowing in the state. All tax revenues are put in the Bank and the money is used locally. Profits are put back into the bank and into the state’s general fund.

Orly:…if this is legal, then, I agree with it! This would “trump” the Obama Adm. and make them “do their jobs”!
It seems that these “tarrifs” stopped under Clinton, when they began to promote “free trade”??? So that means that he signed the law on this. And now, Obama wants to move forward with “free trade” with S. Korea! Neat! No foreign taxes there!!!
Such “treasonous ‘disloyalty'” in this govt! And every one of these people who voted for this (one) signed law, needs to be prosecuted, fully! Apparently, they forgot the Name of: Benedict Arnold!!! And this would make some of these companies “stop producing” products overseas…? I even see where one or more canned mushroom products have the wording: (“a Product of China?”)!
All businesses should be required to bring their “production” of their products back to the USA!
This whole “foreign entanglement” is another arm of the discussion that President Washington tried to warn us with! I know he was discussing military…but this concept can be applied to just about all aspects of life, as long as America is on the “short end of the stick”!
Davey Crockett…
