  • Amazing results: last year the budget deficit was over 2 trillion, this year it will likely be only 1.385 trillion, or about 30% less
  • Add up all the deficits and surpluses February through June. divide by 5 and multiple by 12. You will see the projected yearly deficit go down from 2 trillion last year to 1.4 trillion for 2025
  • February 2025: $308 billion deficit
  • March 2025: $236 billion deficit (derived from the cumulative $1.3 trillion deficit for October 2024–March 2025 minus the $1.064 trillion adjusted deficit through February)
  • April 2025: $256 billion surplus (due to high tax receipts), reducing the cumulative deficit
  • May 2025: $316 billion deficit
  • June 2025: $27 billion surplus
