    There are two problems. First, the GOP protests the “weaponization” of the DoJ to pursue political enemies, so how can Trump (as President) order anyone to be prosecuted? This is a decision for the AG. And if it a decision that the President can make then what’s to stop Biden going after Trump for his insurrectionist behavior? Secondly, treason is not a disagreement over border policy. SCOTUS is very clear that it requires engagement with a foreign enemy power. Mayorkas may or may not be doing a good job but none of this comes anywhere near treason.
