Let me just ask this: I believe–and we have had some question in this Committee to have a special law passed declaring that Senator McCain, who was born in the Panama Canal, that he meets the constitutional requirement to be President. I fully believe he does. I have never had any question in my mind that he meets our constitutional requirement. You are a former Federal judge. You are the head of the agency that executes Federal immigration law. Do you have any doubt in your mind–I mean, I have none in mine. Do you have any doubt in your mind that he is constitutionally eligible to become President?
Secretary Chertoff. My assumption and my understanding is that if you are born of American parents, you are naturally a natural-born American citizen.

Below is Chertoff’s present information and contact…..I just got off the phone with his secretary…..she says he is out of town today but I told her I wished to get his take on “natural born” citizen seeing as his discussion with Senator Leahy points to his belief that you must be born to two citizens of the US to qualify for POTUS….as a former Federal Judge this is significant because it means the definition of “natural born” at least by some judge’s means ……born on US soil to 2 US citizens…..she is going to give him my phone number when he returns and we’ll see if he calls me….if not I will call him again in the near future….until then I will be on Leahy’s case about the conversation he had with Chertoff concerning the eligibility of McCain!!!

Michael Chertoff is senior of counsel in the firm’s Washington, DC office and a member of the White Collar Defense and Investigations practice group.
Most recently, Mr. Chertoff served as Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security. As Secretary, he led a 218,000 person department with a budget of $50 billion. Mr. Chertoff developed and implemented border security and immigration policy; promulgated homeland security regulations; and spearheaded a national cyber security strategy. He also served periodically on the National Security Council and the Homeland Security Council, and on the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States.
Prior to his appointment to the Cabinet, Mr. Chertoff served from 2003 to 2005 on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Before becoming a federal judge, Mr. Chertoff was the Assistant Attorney General for the Criminal Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. In that position, he oversaw the investigation of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, and formed the Enron Task Force, which produced more than 20 convictions, including those of CEOs Jeffrey Skilling and Kenneth Lay.
Mr. Chertoff’s career includes more than a decade as a federal prosecutor, including service as U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey, First Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey, and Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York. As a federal prosecutor, Mr. Chertoff investigated and personally prosecuted significant cases of political corruption, organized crime, and corporate fraud.
From 1994-2001, Mr. Chertoff represented major corporations and individuals in numerous white collar investigations and trials. Among other matters, he successfully represented the nation’s largest hospital company in a four year, multi-jurisdictional criminal and civil investigation, represented major corporations in corruption scandals, and obtained acquittals at trial for individual criminal defendants.
Mr. Chertoff has received numerous awards including the Department of Justice Henry E. Petersen Memorial Award (2006); the Department of Justice John Marshall Award for Trial of Litigation (1987); NAACP Benjamin L. Hooks Award for Distinguished Service (2007); European Institute Transatlantic Leadership Award (2008); and two honorary doctorates. His trial experiences have been featured in over half a dozen books and many news articles.

i have noticed a trend for a long time now.
that trend is that our correspondence in any manner whether it be calling e-mails letters faxes or signing petitions to our so called “law makers” is a waste of time. they simply do not care about americas citizens.
the declaration of independence is our only hope.

PorkRoll….that is my exact thoughts…..I have called the Judiciary office where Leahy is the chair person and I also have a call into Chertoff’s office….he was not in today but I would like his take on the “natural born” citizen issue and as a former Federal Judge maybe he knows how to proceed!!!

Maya Soetoro was born to Indonesian businessman Lolo Soetoro and American cultural anthropologist Ann Dunham and half-sister to the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama. While living in Indonesia, she was home schooled by her mother and then attended Jakarta International School and returned to Hawaii and attended the private Punahou School in Honolulu, Hawaii, graduating in 1988.
Besides being the First Sister Maya has a HawaiiaCertification of Live Birth despite be born in Jakarta Indonesia. Supposedly this certificate was used by the Daily Kos to forge an Obama version. Anyone find it odd that Maya, undisputedly born in Indonesia, would have the same type of document as Barack Obama to forge?

Although not the central issue, since McCain’s eligibility is here discussed, I would like to make a point. As we all know, the framer’s relied on Emmerich de Vattel’s “The Law of Nations”, which defines Natural Born Citizen. There has been major controversy over McCain’s eligibility, as it has been stated that he was born not on a military base, but in a Panamanian civilian hospital. Although ignored, The Law of Nations unequivocally covers such a situation. Book I, Chapter XIX:
§ 212. Citizens and natives. “The natives, or natural-born citizens, are those born in the country, of parents who are citizens. As the society cannot exist and perpetuate itself otherwise than by the children of the citizens, those children naturally follow the condition of their fathers, and succeed to all their rights.” (Obviously, this entirely excludes Soetoro/Obama). Now, here is the section that has been ignored, but which unambiguously covers McCain, beyond dispute:
§ 217. Children born in the armies of the state. “For the same reasons also, children born out of the country, in the armies of the state, or in the house of its minister at a foreign court, are reputed born in the country; for a citizen who is absent with his family, on the service of the state, but still dependent on it, and subject to its jurisdiction, cannot be considered as having quitted its territory.”
I am no fan of McCain, but this is an important issue for other reasons. Since McCain was born to a military family on active duty, he was born and raised without divided allegiance, and his parents cannot be considered as having left the territory of the U.S. This is the intent of our Constitution, based on The Law of Nations, and section 217 could not be more clear. I must question how or why anyone would twist this simple situation into such a contrived conclusion as McCain being ineligible. One does not need a law degree and years of legal practice to understand something so straightforward, clear, and unambiguous. Neither McCain, nor his parents, ever had allegiance to Panama, and his parents cannot be considered to have left the U.S. This is the INTENT of the U.S. Constitution, and to make an issue of it seems a technicality without much, if any, merit.

If Dr. Taitz is on a ‘terrorist watch list’
under the FBI’s jurisdiction, then so will be
millions of Americans who are adamant and
actively involved in ousting the
impostor from the Oval Office.
They would have to investigate ALL the Patriots; it is doubtful that they will
entangle themselves in something so contrived as arresting an attorney who is on a
case involving national security.
The FBI, though, needs to get its act
together and investigate, arrest, and
try the kooks who threaten anyone, whether
it is Dr. Taitz or any other citizen of
America. That is what they DO; unless
they have become corrupted along with
the spineless judges.

I tried the link to the FBI letter, but it is off limits to non members. Since the North Carolina Grand Jury indicted Obama, I need that letter to enhance my case to Congress. Will someone tell me how I can read that letter? I need to verify the authenticity and forward it to my senators and my representative. The post by Paul Jones is not official to congress. I hope the letter is.
Will someone please help me?
