Russian media is reporting statements of separatists who state that they will continue pushing until they reach the capital of Ukraine, Kiev. They claim that Putin is not involved, however it is hard to believe.  They state that their goal is to create a new state of Novorossiya (New Russia) and they want to free Ukraine from the rule of oligarchs. current president of Ukraine is an oligarch, a multimillionaire -owner of a chocolate factory.

Truth be told, it is oligarchy on both sides. Putin is reported to be a billionaire. At issue is, whether it is  a one world order with absolute power or two competing teams of oligarchs and no absolute global power. Currently several countries formed a separate alliance: BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa). This alliance is a competing team on the economic arena. US and EU continue disastrous policies of WTO-GATT, NAFTA and open borders, which is bankrupting the west. Unless these policies are reversed, the West will ultimately fall into an economic demise and BRICS will win the game.

There is another concern. In 1990s, when the former Soviet republics seceded, there was an understanding that Ukraine will stay neutral, will not join EU and NATO.  In the past couple years the West pushed for a revolt in Ukraine and it’s inclusion in EU and NATO. The revolt happened, however now there is a threat that the push back from Russia, if successful, would lead to Putin becoming emboldened and pushing further, past Ukraine and NATO will be stretched too thin, trying to defend other nations in the region.

I do not believe that a Ukrainian conflict can be solved or even contained unless the West abandons EU and NATO expansion into the Ukraine.

Further, this Ukrainian conflict came at a worst imaginable time: the whole Middle East is on fire, ISIS is threatening the U.S. targets and building a terrorist organization into a Caliphate.

ISIS fighters are threatening the US and gaining power. Meanwhile, Obama is concentrating on playing golf.

    Does this sound plausible to you that Russia could embark on a first strike strategy against NATO?

    if NATO deploys in Ukraine, Russia will go all the way and will be in Kiev within days.
    Russia will not tolerate NATO at its’ borders
