    Here is my solution for replacing Obamacare:

    Divide healthcare into two parts.

    Part 1 – Major Medical
    Part 2 – Health Maintenance

    The major medical portion would be funded by the taxpayer.

    Health maintenance will be up to the individual. (several options here)
    a. Insurance company issued policy for health maintenance/drug plan
    b. Health insurance savings account
    c. Health discount cards
    d. Pay your own way

    Benefits:

    1. No taxpaying citizen need fear financial ruin in the case of a catastrophic injury or illness.
    2. Insurance companies can offer competitive plans for health maintenance because their risk assessment tables no longer include major medical.
    3. People will have incentive to be preventive about their health when it comes directly out of their own wallet.
    4. No longer needs to be employer based.
