U.S. sends illegal immigrants home on expensive charter flights that are largely empty. With 12 million illegals in the country officially and as many as 42 million unofficially, why are they sending them home on largely empty flights?

    It seems to me this is the kind of misuse that committees of Issa and others could well use to expose and stop for the US public interests. However past actions and showings demonstrate dog and pony shows instead.

    “Why?” According to the article you link to:

    In its official response to the findings, ICE agreed with all of the recommendations but said that empty seats don’t necessarily indicate inefficient flights.

    “While ICE agreed with and was already in the process of making a number of improvements suggested by the report, the agency strongly disagrees with the report’s use of empty seats on flights as a measure of efficiency,” the agency said in a statement on Monday. “Chiefly because delaying the removal of individuals in order to fill empty seats causes the agency to incur ancillary costs that may exceed the cost of the seats.”

    Darrell Issa voted to remove the NBC requirement before Obama was installed. He’s
    redacted; will do nothing. That’s why he’s in charge of all these investigations – to make sure they go nowhere.
