    Ted Cruz has some unsolicited advice for the states not specifically named in last week’s Supreme Court ruling on gay marriage: Ignore it.
    “Those who are not parties to the suit are not bound by it,” the Texas Republican told NPR News’ Steve Inskeep in an interview published on Monday. Since only suits against the states of Ohio, Tennessee, Michigan and Kentucky were specifically considered in the Supreme Court’s Obergefell v. Hodges decision, which was handed down last Friday, Cruz — a former Supreme Court clerk — believes that other states with gay marriage bans need not comply, absent a judicial order.

    “[O]n a great many issues, others have largely acquiesced, even if they were not parties to the case,” the 2016 presidential contender added, “but there’s no legal obligation to acquiesce to anything other than a court judgement.”
    While Cruz’s statement may be technically true, federal district and circuit courts are obligated to follow the Supreme Court’s precedent and overrule all other states’ same-sex marriage bans as unconstitutional.
    The Texas senator then went on to suggest that Republicans who have called for following the court’s decision are members of a “Washington cartel” and are lying when they say they do not support same-sex marriage.
    “[Republican Party leaders] agree with the rulings from last week, both the Obamacare ruling and the marriage ruling,” Cruz said. “[T]he biggest divide we have politically is not between Republicans and Democrats. It’s between career politicians in both parties and the American people.”
    Cruz also doubled down on his call for a constitutional amendment making Supreme Court justices subject to “periodic judicial retention election.”
    “I think the question Republican primary voters should ask is, ‘When have you stood up against the Washington cartel? When have you stood up against leaders in our own party?’”

    It could not be simpler. Ignore the supreme court. They have already proven they are a venal rogue consortium specifically chosen to further the death of this Republic.

    The proof is in the pudding. They allowed the occupation of the office of president by a foreign infiltrator, they allowed for the subjugation of of the U.S. citizens through health care, in every case they have upheld the illegal unConstitutional acts of a fraud president, and now they presume the authority to rewrite the very moral code on which this nation was built, the moral code of God himself. But then, this was not their beginning.

    I say they just don’t have “standing”.

    I agree Kevlin. Some of our framers were highly skeptical of establishing this monarchy. Way too much power vested in a simple 5-4 majority. Abolish the SCOTUS. The proof is in. They have been corrupted. They could have protected us and preserved our individual freedoms but they did not. Instead they ratified all of the democratic party entitlements, deficit spending and special rights for voter blocs discrimination.

    Will somebody please explain to me how this could happen? A majority of the justices were appointed by republican presidents and Kennedy, the swing vote, was appointed by Reagan. Was he bribed or blackmailed? Or was Reagan just plain wrong? After all, he also appointed Sandra O’Connor and she turned out to be a pretty wobbly conservative, too.

    ANY power not specifically delegated to the federal government is delegated to the states…per our Constitution…marriage rights wasn’t delegated to the federal government.

    What about the right to privacy for the kids already IN the restroom? ……DOJ: Students’ Gender Identity Determines Restroom Use…
