Gorsuch was written up in an article in the Cedar Rapids, Iowa Gazette Paper, last Saturday, the 18th of March.

But the article tried to express how Gorsuch is NOT a full time conservative!

Which means that he will flip-flop on decisions!

    Do we need that?

Davey Crocket, thank you for an interesting article in Iowa Gazette on Judge Gorsuch. The article is by Kathy Glason. You pointed out that[the article tried to express how Gorsuch is NOT a full time conservative!] I think this summary is not correct for the content of the article. The words “full time conservative” do not occur in the article. Judge Gorsuch has stated in the Senate Committee today that his decisions as a Judge are not politically motivated. They are only follow the law. This happened to shut Senator Al franken questions. Al Franken was asking Gorsuch to provide a political opinion. Gorsuch refused and explained why. Franken had to stop questioning. So the decisions of Judge Gorsuch would not be based on his conservative views, but only on the law. This may look to you as confirming the summary of the article that you have provided. Yet it is not the correct summary.

Here what the article is about more closely.

The Author, Kathy Glason, provides about 3 examples where Judge Gorsuch made decisions that appear to her unjust. The examples are exposed in such a way that Judge Gorsuch decisions may look heartless. The Judge may appear to be lacking compassion. However, Judge Gorsuch must have provided legal rational for his decisions. Without looking at the correctness of the Judge reasoning his decisions cannot be qualified as right or wrong. Lady Liberty is shown blindfolded to demonstrate that human emotions are not supposed to effect the rational of Judges. They should follow the law.

The Kathy Dlason story does not present Judge Gorsuch rationals for his decisions. This is the only criteria a Judge needs be evaluated on. That was what the Founders were struggling to establish for this Country. The story illustrates that this is not an easy position to be a fair Judge. The story pulls our attention that having compassion need not be a characteristic of a good Judge.

This story is an interesting illustration to the Judge Gorsuch confrontation with Senator Al Franken in the Senate today. Gorsuch is apolitical!! And he stands by it Al Franken could not continue his questioning of Gorsuch and had to fold it. Gorsuch was standing by his guns being apolitical as a Judge.
