    From NY Post 1/17/2015:
    “Immig Birth Proof Easier
    Mexico has started issuing birth certificates to its citizens at its consulates in the United States. The goal of the program is to make it easier for Mexican immigrants to obtain US work permits, driver’s licenses and protection from deportation. The consulate in Santa Ana, Calif., issued its first birth certificate Thursday afternoon. Until now, Mexico has required citizens to get birth certificates at local government offices in Mexico. Millions of Mexicans in the United States illegally will need to present ID to apply for the new Obama administration program that would allow them to remain in the US. AP”
