I was in France in 2002, when Le Pen’s father made it into the final run-off against Chirac. The problem was that all the other parties closed ranks to keep him from getting elected, even though nobody liked Chirac. She faces a similar challlenge this time.

she is better than her father. She is not a racist, she is not anti-Semitic, she is very well spoken, but of course, she is in a tough battle

I agree wth everything you say, but people remember her father and her enemies keep reminding them. She has to fight that every day. It makes it harder.

Macron, Lepen’s rival has got to be a certifiable nut. Married to a woman 25 years older then himself who was his school teacher when he was a teen and whom he married then.Is this who France wants to govern? But look who we had for eight years.
