In Rome, do as the Romans

I believe Democrat party realised, that the house is lost, therefore they are concentrating their efforts on the Senate. Keep in mind in Congress you have all 435 seats up for grabs. Democrats have 256 seats. About a 100 of these 256 are in play. Republicans are projected to take over at least 54 out of these 100. They need to gain only 39, so at this point the House is most certainly going to Republicans.

Senate is much harder to take. Keep in mind, only one third of the Senate seats are up for election every cycle. This year for one reason or another 37 seats are up. 19 of these seats are occupied by the Democrats. Republicans need to take 10 out of these 19, it is over 50%, it is a much harder task. It looks like they have 8. This 8 includes Sharron Angle, who is now ahead in the polls.  A couple more seats are on the bubble: Dino Rossi v Patti Murray in WA and Mark Steven Kirk v   Alexi Giannolias in IL.

I know that many of you Like Christine O’Donnell, but we need to be practical. In a two way race with her opponent Chris Coons she is 11% behind, in a 3 way race with Mike Castle running she is 9% behind.

You can see, that the Democrats are shifting their attention to close races in the Senate, where they have a chance to win. In Rome do as Romans.  It is time for the Republicans to be smart and reasonable and pragmatic. Please, concentrate on a couple of races, where you can make a difference. Help Dino Rossi in WA and Mark Steven Kirk in IL. If  both of them win, Republicans will have the magic 10 and will get both houses. Both of these races are tough races. Of course, if at the end of the day they don’t win all 10, they will still have the house, and the judges will not be afraid that they will be impeached by the House on some trumped up charges  in case they rule against Obama in eligibility cases.
