I say the Health care package should include the mandatory urine drug test for Congress and Pres. Who do you think will fail the test?

Urine Test — This guy has a very valid point! This was written by a construction worker.

I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes, and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit….. In order to earn that pay check, I work on a rig site for a Fort McMurray construction project. At any time I am required to pass a random urine test, with which I have no problem. HOWEVER, what I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don’t have to pass a urine test.
Shouldn’t one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check because I have to pass one to earn it for them? Understand – I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. I do on the other hand have a real big problem with helping someone sit on their backside, drink beer and do drugs. Could you imagine how much money this country would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check? If you agree, please pass this along, or simply delete if you don’t.

Hope you will pass it along though, because something has to change in this country.

A Taxpaying American Worker

I 100% agree with you. It would cause a lot of them to STOP their drug use, if we didn’t have to pay for it. Plus, they’d probably get a job, GREAT IDEA!

Well Stated !! I agree with you 100% , In fact it is OBAMA who in his open discussions has stated about his ” Drug Use ” ( ie ) Illegal Drugs such as ” Cocaine ” etc, Now I do not agree with the Health Plan Bill , I think it is another Communist plan hidden by the name of Socialismn , but I think that all Government employees should be required by law to not only take mandtory drug tests , but also a zero tolerance pass rate , after all the Senators write the laws that put people into Prisons !!!!!!! So if /when they can not pass a drug test , then Let them go into the public sector for work !!!

I prefer to have all public employees pass a lie detector test. Imagine this question; Have you violated the oath to uphold and defend the constitution of the US ?

And while we’re at requiring things in the struggle to regain control of our country, how about requiring people to pay taxes in order to qualify to vote?

The very fact that we have about 1/2 of the country on some sort of public assistance and being supported by the other half of the working citizens is absolutely absurd.

Add to that the incentives that the government is handing out to those who rely on them for their very existence, and we have set up a model that will only get larger and larger.

Who do you think the people whom the original poster referred to are going to vote for, in perpetuity? Those who require nothing of them or those who expect them to get off the sofa and on to work?

Originally, one had to be a land owner to vote. That might be a bit much these days, but I don’t see a problem with having to be a working taxpayer in order to vote as to how your own tax money is spent.
