I need help in research

Posted on | June 29, 2010 | 20 Comments

There is a clip going around, where Obama himself is saying that he was born in Kenya, I need authentication of this clip: where did it come from. It looks like Obama is talking to a group of students, but I need an authentication from the network that recorded it, stating that it was not doctored, that it was not altered, where words where not taken out of contest and put together

Maybe if you posted the clip than we would know what you’re talking about.

    Orly,
I read a blog entry where someone indicated it was in fact edited and that an audio segment was used out of context from a portion two minutes farther into the video where Obama was talking about his father. Another blog entry had an html link to an unedited version. That is what you need for reference. If I can find the blog entry again I will send it to you.

This appears to be an unedited version with embedded transcript. I have not watched the whole thing. It is 44 min. long

The only time I ever heard him admit it was in a debate with Alan Keyes in the Illinois Senate race. The program was presented by WTTW the PBS affiliate in Chicago IL. I believe that copies of the Video are available.

Dr. Keyes asked him about his Kenyan citizenship and Obama replied….”That is in material because I’m running for the uS Senate, not the Presidency.” I remember him stating that.

    I just saw it.
Each instance where he is supposedly saying he is not from here or born in Kenya, the camera is not on his face. It is highly suspicious and more than likely a trap. I suggest you stay clear.

Have you seen the VANITY FAIR POLL?

24% think that Obama was born OUTSIDE OF AMERICA!

Only 39% think he was born IN HAWAII.

And this is VANITY FAIR readers! WOW!

I saw the one you are talking about, and it appears obviously doctored… it didn’t even seem close to fluid. I have not seen the video that someone mentioned about the conversation with Alan Keyes, though. Interesting. That sounds more promising.

I have not had the time to research, but the Keyes v. Obama senatorial debate from 2006, is supposed to be now available on c-span archives, containing the segment where Dr. Keyes said “you’re not even a natural born citizen” to which Obama replies to the effect, “so, I’m not running for president”. Perhaps someone can pursue this.

I couldn’t track down the videos for you, but here is some information I hope will help:
3 debates total between Keyes and Obama (2005)

WBBM-AM 780 (radio debate) The Illinois Radio Group (WSIU affiliate)

    2 televised debates:
Oct 21 on WLS-Ch 7 (ABC affiliate) and
Oct 26 on WTTW Ch 11

Funny twist on this- Keyes tried selling copies of the debates to alleviate his campaign debts. $20 per or $50 for the set of 3.

He did say in an article back in 2006 that he had a childhood in Kenya.

From an interview in the Chicago Sun Times back in 2006 he made while returning from his trip to Africa:

He reflected on his trip at the back of a plane on Saturday, talking above the roar of the engines to the three print reporters who have been covering his trip.

Obama’s next big international journey will be in 2007–he’s looking at China, India and Indonesia, “where ironically I actually have more of a childhood than I do in Kenya.”

… More of a childhood ? That implies he had some form of a childhood in Kenya. To have a childhood there, he had to have lived there. If he didn’t have one, he would have said ( when referring to Indonesia ) something like :”Where I actually had a childhood as compared to Kenya “.

I listened to the entire first video and 45 minutes is a long time to watch a video which was entirely very boring but I do not remember any question regarding Obama’s citizenship come up.
People can check tapes on computer equipment.
Why not have someone check the tone quality and picture frame quality of the tape if there are questions.

    https://www.thepostemail.com/2009/10/15/obama-concedes-hes-not-a-nbc-in-obama-vs-keyes-2004-debate/

This is an article from Post and Email
in which a witness states that he
    heard this exchange between Obama
and Keyes during the Senate race.

Also, there was an article in a regular
    newspaper, giving the whole episode
and the conversation between the two.

Can’t find it now nor do I recall the
name of the newspaper. Maybe someone
else saw this paper which was dated
    during that time period.
