GOHMERT: ‘WE CAN DROP’ THE SPECIAL COUNSEL

Tuesday on Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends First,” Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) argued now that we know there is no collusion between the Trump administration and the Russian government, we can drop the special counsel probe headed up by former FBI Director Robert Mueller.

“[W]e now know there is no collusion between this administration and Russia – so we can drop the Independent Counsel, the Special Counsel – there is no further need,” he said.

Gohmert argued instead that a spotlight should be shined on the collusion within the Department of Justice.

“And now that we know the collusion between Comey and Mueller,” he continued. “He ran things by Mueller before he testified. He also ran things by other people in the Justice Department when he did the memo. There is so much collusion –- real collusion in the Justice Department.”

“[Mueller] needs to recuse himself from this matter,” Gohmert added. “We don’t need a special counsel. That was a ruse, once again, by the dishonest Comey.”

I agree in principle, but the reality is more complicated. If Trump fires Rosentstein, the media and the left will start screaming
“cover-up!” It won’t be true, of course, but it will create a hell of a lot of noise and get in the way of enacting Trump’s agenda. I think (and you may disagree) that his best course is to let the investigation clear him and then crush the opposition that tried to smear him.

    you sound like the left
who cares what they yell. Mueller is corrupt, he covered up for Obama, he cannot be trusted. He needs to be fired today, yesterday and he should be criminally investigated for aiding and abetting Obama

Left creates “hell of a lot of noise” all the time.

    Act, Trump. Fire Mueller

Maybe I didn’t explain myself well. I just think it will be more effective to let these jackasses finish their investigation, which will turn up nothing. Then they will be exposed for the partisan hacks and wasters of tax-payer dollars that they really are and the left won’t have any answer.

[ I just think it will be more effective to let these jackasses finish their investigation, which will turn up nothing.]

There is no time for that. Trump administration is on defensive already.

Instead, Justice Department has to prosecute:

    1. Obama for usurpation of POTUS position,
2.Loretta Lynch for covering up Hilary Clinton misdeeds.
    3. Previous to Loretta Lynch AG serving in Obama Administration.
    4 Prosecute Hilary Clinton crimes,
    5. Prosecute Mueller promotion of Islam in FBI,
    6. Prosecute Obama Undermining US Military with idiotic gender policies.
    7….

The swamp should be busy defending itself, not attacking Trump.

    Whose job is this?

Trump Administration and the Department of Justice, including AG. Does AG doing this? No.

Hire Rudy Guilliani. He will help to manage this.

I’m with Stuart on this and then some. I think what we should do is pound the facts repeatedly about the Comey/Mueller collusion and the rigging of the staff Mueller’s putting together and the complete lack of evidence about a Trump/Russia collusion. Even Manchin and Feinstein on the Committee say there’s no evidence. Just drive this all in to the American psyche until everyone sees the truth of it. And after instituting an investigation into Lynch and whomever, and when America becomes sick of the Left’s terrible goal, THEN fire Mueller and bring him up on charges. Soften up the enemy first, then move in to eviscerate him.

Giulliani does not want to work for DOJ. The only government position he wanted, was the Secretary of State. He is making millions in his private firm. He does not need a DOJ job that pays $200,000 per year and gives a lot of headaches
