Thank you for contacting me with your concerns about the Department of Homeland Security contracting to purchase ammunition.
Last year, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) awarded a contract to a private ammunition company for a bulk order of 40 caliber ammunition. This department-wide contract covers a five-year period and the ammunition obtained through this contract is not to exceed 450 million rounds.
The Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC), which is part of DHS, recently posted a bid solicitation for 750 million rounds of ammunition as well. This ammunition will be used primarily in training exercises conducted by the FLETC. The FLETC annually provides training for approximately 60,000 law enforcement personnel from 91 federal agencies, as well as state, local and tribal law enforcement agencies.
Other ammunition requests in the past year include Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) requesting 40 million rounds of rifle ammunition a year for up to five years, 176,000 rifle rounds on a separate contract and 25,000 blank rounds. All of this ammunition combined will serve more than 70,000 federal law enforcement officers for on-the-job purposes, as well as for training and firing range activities. Bulk contracts like these known as “strategic sourcing contracts” help the government get lower prices and save taxpayer money in the long run.
It is important to conduct oversight of federal agencies as they carry out their duties. However, we also need to make sure that those who protect our homeland and ensure our way of life have the resources they need to accomplish these goals. As a member of the House Homeland Security Committee, be assured that I will continue to conduct active oversight of DHS.

I was looking for his reason for the hollow points. Their answers always avoid the specific questions. It is maddening and insane that Americans are blind to this thug mafia government.
