Breaking: McCain and Graham just announced that they will vote for Tillerson as SOS, which means that all Trump’s appointees will be confirmed

Until now all GOP Senators supported all but one of Trump’s appointees, Rex Tillerson. There were 3 holdouts on Tillerson: McCain, Graham and Rubio. Today FOX announced that McCain and Graham issued a joint statement that they will vote for Tillerson. Rubio and all the Democrats became completely irrelevant, as nominees need only 51 votes and Republicans have 52 seats in the senate.

This means that all of President Trump’s cabinet appointees will be confirmed by the senate. The rest of 400 appointees for government positions that need senate consent are expected to be approved shortly. This includes approval of 195 ambassadors. Trump is expected to appoint a 100 federal judges and have them approved quickly. The only appointment where Democrats will have a say is an appointment of a Supreme Court justice which requires 60 votes, which means that President Trump will need 8 Democrats for this one appointment.
