Reading the comments to the mentioned article in The Nation, there are two strains: One, that the download and transmission speeds weren’t fast enough in DC to allow an off-sight hack, therefore a local download, such as with a thumb drive was necessary, per the timestamps left behind as proof of access to the system. And Two, the download and transmission speeds were indeed fast enough o Google Fiber to allow offshore access to Romania, where the hacker “Gucifer2.0” is alleged to have been in operation. Whichever way it finally shakes out will be interesting.

One thing though… does google, if that is whose network was used for download and transmission of the DNC material on July 5th of last year, keep records of usage, and especially of offshore accounts accessing things in the US? And if so, what do those records say… was there a download and transmission over their system to Romania at that time… 6:45 PM, July 5th, 2016?
