2nd congressman wants Obama eligibility proof
Virginia representative signs onto plan to demand evidence

Rep. Bob Goodlatte, R-Va.
Now there are two.
A Virginia congressman, very quietly, has signed onto a measure in Congress that would require presidential candidates to verify their eligibility to hold the highest=2 0elected office in the United States.

WND earlier reported when freshman Rep. Bill Posey, R-Fla., filed H.R. 1503, an amendment to the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971.

According to the Library of Congress’ bill-tracking website, H.R. 1503 would “require the principal campaign committee of a candidate for election to the office of president to include with the committee’s statement of organization a copy of the candidate’s birth certificate, together with such other documentation as may be necessary to establish that the candidate meets the qualifications for eligibility to the=2 0Office of President under the Constitution.”

The plan has been referred to the House committee on House administration, where it has remained.
Now, Virginia Republican Bob Goodlatte has signed on as a co-sponsor, putting a notice on his website that it’s one of the efforts in which he’s joining.
“Another man with a spine – there are at least two up there on the Hill,” wrote a WND reader who has followed the Posey plan.

Get the new Whistleblower magazine, called “YOUR PAPERS, PLEASE? Why dozens of lawsuits and millions of Americans want Barack Obama to prove he’s constitutionally qualified to be president.”
George Cecala, a spokesman for Posey office, told WND that constituents had been calling, questioning whether Barack Obama – who has publicized a Certificate of Live Birth, but not his official birth certificate – has demonstrated that he meets the Constitution’s requirement to be a natural-born citizen.
“Those are legitimate constitutional concerns,” Cecala said. “Folks have brought the issue up, and the court really hasn’t clarified. And I think American citizens have a right to have answers from their government.”
“When 7-year-olds play soccer in Brevard County, to be in Little League they have to prove their residency,” Cecala said. “To be president there are three requirements: one is citizenship, two is the age of 35, and three, you have to have been a resident for 14 years. We’re simply saying when you file your statement of candidacy with the FEC, you should also file documentation that you fulfill the three requirements to be president.
“Opponents of President Bush used the 2000 election results and the court decisions to question the legitimacy of President Bush to serve as president,” explained Rep. Posey in an official statement. “Opponents of President Obama are raising the birth certificate issue as a means of questioning his eligibility to serve as president. Neither of these situations is healthy for our republic. This bill, by simply requiring such documentation for future candidates for president will remove this issue as a reason for questioning the legitimacy of a candidate elected as president.”

This bill is a step forward, but no political campaign should have anything whatsoever to do with it. It should be made up of a committee who have taken an oath to protect the American people from usurpers. NO POLITICS! What are they thinking with?

    Hi,

Just wanted to correct your headline – whether or not congressman Goodlatte may WANT Obama’s eligibility proof, HR 1503 is quite specific about applying only to 2012 & forward.

Please thank Congressman Goodlatte. It isn’t perfection, but it’s a good start and certainly makes a statement.

Read what Cecala said the 2nd Article requirements are:

one is citizenship, two is the age of 35, and three, you have to have been a resident for 14 years. We’re simply saying when you file your statement of candidacy with the FEC, you should also file documentation that you fulfill the three requirements to be president.”

This bill would enshrine BO as president, folks, not unseat him.

This guy is an Obama supporter.

Any other sane American can read that the Constitution says “NATURAL BORN CITIZEN” NOT “CITIZEN”!

Why didn’t these two congressmen object when the Congress met to confirm Obama? Are they just now realizing he is ineligible? This is good but it is a bit late.

I can’t seem to find a copy of the bill anywhere. As a matter of fact I just did a complete and thorough search of Rep. Posey’s own web site and the bill has been completely scrubbed. There is not one mention of the bill or a press release about the bill at all. It appears Mr. Posey is not very proud of the bill he introduced.

Now I read the text of the bill and it appears that Obama’s COLB that we have all seen plus the contemporary newspaper accounts of his birth in Hawaii would meet the requirements of the bill. The wording in the bill is very poor. I requires a “copy of the candidate’s birth certificate, together with such other documentation as may be necessary to establish that the candidate meets the qualifications for eligibility to the Office of President under the Constitution”.

Of course, this all doesn’t mean a thing because for one thing it would not apply to Obama and the bill will never pass (even the author must not think so since he scrubbed it from his web site).

HR 1503 will apply (if passed) to future elections. It would be nice if both or even one of these two representatives would take a public stand on the specific issue of Obama’s eligibility. Obviously they think something is suspicious. Myabe if there is an email campaign directed to these two they may get the fire lit under them. Sponsoring HR 1503 without questioning Obama’s eligibility is hypocritical.

Goodlatte has no credibility until he addresses the House of Representatives and demands an investigation by a special investigator of Obama’s eligibility.

On second thought, if a Bill requiring proof of citizenship for presidential candidtes dies in commitee, it seems to be evidentiary that the Member of the Committee know that Obama is not even a US citizen. Perhaps the Department of State has already secretely confided to our congressmen that he is a Kenyan born national?

True, MuscleDaddy. But who is the most likely Democrat candidate to run for President in 2012? Barack Obama.

My concern is that BO will just present his certification of live birth again as his “proof” that he was born in Hawaii – not the original, typewritten one that is in the vault in Hawaii.

If there is a committee to prove eligibility, there would be a lot of investigations of many candidates before the election process begins. It sounds like another red tape mess and expense with a potential to be bribed leaving us in a similar boat.

The candidate has the responsibility to be eligible. We the people have the responsibility to take action, as Orly Taitz has, of persuing until proofs come forward when we see evidence of fraud and such. Whatever proofs are available should be shared on websites such as this so proofs can be coordinated.

We have much evidence to work with. We only need a massive call to Barack Obama and the media for evidence of eligibility. If we cannot get truth from our media, we have no need to support them in financial ways.

Barack Obama certainly thinks he has something to hide; otherwise, his records would be lifted up in full view.

Charges and evidences against Barack Obama are on my website, court style, at:

Six words. Just six words. Keep asking your people in Congress. Don’t stop. Just ask over and and over, respectfully: “Is Obama a natural-born citizen?” Send e-mails, write letters, make phone calls. Just six words.
