Political correctness running amok

We are seeing the push for political correctness at the expense of common sense at its’ height and it destroys lives.
Today Bradley Manning announced that he wants to live his life as a woman and wants to undergo gender transformation surgery. We are told that we have to rush into accepting it, call him “Chelsea” instead of Bradley, welcome an opportunity to give away our hard earned tax payer dollars for a doctor to cut off Bradley Manning’s penis and build some concoction resembling female reproductive organs and applaud this “advancement”.
Please, read below a wiki bio of a writer Mike Penner, who suddenly in 2007 decided that he is a woman, lived for a year as a woman, then went back to being a man and a year later committed suicide. There are a number of examples like these.
Recently there was a short article in the local papers about a man who tried to cut of his arm, he was stopped and send to a psychiatric hospital, but when a man wants a doctor to cut off his penis, we have to applaud it, see it as a great civil rights achievement and foot the bill for it. Really??? I don’t think so.
Recently I talked to a friend of mine, an internal medicine doctor, who mentioned that in her practice she often saw low Testosterone levels in gay men, however nobody would talk about it, is is is not politically correct. Imagine if we would be told that it is not politically correct to talk about low insulin level in diabetic patients. Would you think this is ok?
Nobody is talking about the statistics showing higher incidence of drug abuse, alcohol abuse, suicides, spousal abuse, shorter life span, higher per capita incidence of AIDS, Caposi sarcoma, atrophy of anal sphincter and incontinence (inability to hold feces) among gay men. It is not politically correct to talk about it. This political correctness ruins many lives and first and foremost lives of many men and women, who might suffer from low hormonal levels, from psychological problems, from low self esteem, from a myriad of other problems which can be addressed and have to be addressed before accepting and applauding what Bradley Manning is trying to do.
We live today in a society, where the truth is the pariah. It is not politically correct to talk about the fact that the person in the WH is using fabricated IDs and a stolen Social Security number. It is not politically correct to talk about the fact that this man and the Secretary of Treasury are fabricating reports of our National debt. It is not politically correct to talk about judges covering up falsification of transcripts by reporters, who manipulate dockets, cover up crimes. It is not politically correct to talk about the corruption in the judiciary.
It is time to speak of what is factually correct, not politically correct.
Mike Penner
Mike Penner (October 10, 1957 – November 27, 2009) was a sports writer for the Los Angeles Times. Penner self-identified as being transsexual in a 2007 column and returned from a vacation writing with the name Christine Daniels, before resuming his original name in 2008 and then committing suicide in 2009.[1]
- Early life and education Born Michael Daniel Penner[2] in Inglewood, California, Penner graduated from Western High School in Anaheim and from California State University, Fullerton.[1]
Professional career
Penner began his journalism career at the Anaheim Bulletin as a writer and sports editor.[1] He then joined the Los Angeles Times in 1983 as a staff writer for the paper’s Orange County edition.
Transsexuality
Later in his career, in addition to covering sports, Penner also began writing about transsexual identity and the process of gender transition from an autobiographical perspective. The first such piece he wrote for the Times was an essay entitled “Old Mike, New Christine” that appeared in the paper in April 2007. until about March 2008; without elaboration, he resumed using Mike Penner as his byline in October 2008.
Penner was a member of the Times’ sports staff at the time of his death.
Personal life
Penner was at one time married to fellow Los Angeles Times sportswriter Lisa Dillman[6] although at the time of his death they were divorced.[1]
Penner was found dead in his Los Angeles home on November 28, 2009 of an apparent suicide.[1]
