Glenn Greenwald to Democrats: Where Is the Outrage You Showed over Warrantless Spying Under Bush?
Watch the full interview with Guardian columnist Glenn Greenwald on Democracy Now! athttps://owl.li/m9fgs. Greenwald broke the NSA surveillance story earlier this month with the disclosure of wholesale government collection of data from phone calls and internet use. Speaking to Democracy Now!, Greenwald says that with President Obama in the White House, “Democratic partisans in both the politics and the media” have abandoned the outrage they displayed when warrantless spying was exposed under the Bush administration. “Give [Dick] Cheney at least some minimal credit that he’s being consistent,” Greenwald says. “Consistently horrible, but at least consistent in contrast to these Democrats who under Bush were very ardent critics of the surveillance state, who now have completely done a 180 reversal now that it’s a Democrat in office.”
