Republican Congressman Steve King isn’t one to mince words, especially when it comes to the immigration reform bill. So the Tweet he posted Thursday calling out “illegal aliens” who were in attendance during the committee meeting shouldn’t have surprised anyone.

So far we’ve heard a lot about the Gang of Eight and how they’ve heroically banded together and reached a bipartisan agreement to create the ultimate Path to Citizenship for the 11.5 million illegal aliens within our borders. You almost hear angels singing in the background every time their names are mentioned.

But there’s a flip side to every coin and soon, as the bill makes its way to the House, the alternative-Gang of Eight, the anti-amnesty team, will be fielding their own A-team led by Rep. Steve King of Iowa and his second-in-command, Republican Rep. Louie Gohmert of Texas.

Together the two make a formidable team, but they’re not alone. They’ll be accompanied by Rep. Mo Brooks (Ala.), Rep. Lamar Smith (Texas), Lou Barletta (Pa.), Rep. Steve Stockman of Texas, Rep. John Flemin (La.) and Rep. Paul Gosar (Ariz.)

King takes a strong stand against the current immigration initiative on his website and he believes our first and foremost focus should be on securing and controlling our borders:

“It is troubling that the levels of illegal immigration continue to rise and that the Rule of Law is not being enforced. I believe we only encourage illegal immigration by discussing amnesty for the 12-20 million illegal immigrants living in the United States today. I adamantly oppose amnesty, regardless of the guise under which it is presented. Amnesty pardons immigration lawbreakers and rewards them with the objective of their crime—citizenship.”

King also introduced the Birthright Citizenship Act of 2011 to limit birthright citizenship, requiring a child born in the U.S. to have at least one parent who is a U.S. citizen before that child can also be considered a legal citizen of the United States. The bill was reintroduced in 2013 and is currently in committee, but it would have put a serious crimp in the plans of those illegal aliens who come here to deposit their anchor babies.

“I do not believe it is in the best interest of our nation to continue tolerating the practice of illegal aliens giving birth to children in the U.S. in order to obtain citizenship for the child, then moving back to their country of origin with the hopes of achieving uninhibited access to our country for as many family members as possible.”

On May 12, in an exclusive interview at Breitbart, King addressed the question, “How are you going to solve the problem of eleven million illegal immigrants?”

King answered, “Why do I have to do anything to solve a problem that people created willingly for themselves?”

“They choose to come here illegally and live in the shadows. They are happy enough to take the risk of sneaking into the United States or overstaying their visa, sneaking around and using fraudulent documents to get a job or tapping into welfare and living here in the shadows for the balance of their lives. That was their best option; the worst would be prison or deportation.”

“The answer to that question is: I don’t have to do anything to fix that problem.”

“I have no moral obligation to make it easier for people to stay here if they are people who broke the law to get here. That moral question isn’t answered by anyone; I don’t have to fix that problem. The more uncomfortable it gets for them to stay, the less problems we have. The less uncomfortable it gets, the more problems.”

During Wednesday’s Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, DREAMers, undocumented illegal aliens who vehemently believe they’re above all those silly legal requirements and should be granted immediate amnesty, were in the audience, which prompted King to Tweet”

: Illegal aliens in House Judiciary Committee room during hearing today. How can we secure border if we can’t secure our room?

Julieta Garibay, one of the DREAMers in attendance, picked up on King’s Tweet and fired back with:

According to ABC News, King said there was an immigration officer in the room during the meeting but he was “prohibited from enforcing immigration law by the existing leadership.” “Even if he has someone that he knows is here illegally and they’re in jail, he can’t deport them,” King responded.

Make all the illegals leave our country and stand in line in their country “Embassy or Consulate” for legitimate entry as did many who immigrated here. They all must be vetted and not the way Obama was vetted.
