Today the first pope from the Americas, Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio of Argentina was elected by the conclave of the cardinals to be the next pope. He is the first non-European pope in the history of Catholicism and the first pope from the Western Hemisphere.
Aside from being a remarkable person in his own right, Bergoglio, who will go by Francis the 1st, in memory of St. Francis of Asissi, will be a formidable force standing in the way of the proliferation of the Socialism and Communism.
If you recall, Pope John Paul the second, who came from the Communist Poland, was the lifeline, the breathe of fresh air and a strong force for reforms, towards democratization and freedoms in the Eastern Europe.
Today we are seeing an attack of the Socialist regimes. Castro and Chavez regimes made a mockery of the civil rights and free press and any sensible economy in Cuba nad Venezuela. Under Dilma Rousseff in Brazil and Christina Fernandez Kirchner in Argentina, both of the most populated South American countries are going towards the socialism. Obama, of course is preaching the distribution of wealth, ransacked the treasury and softening and prepping the U.S. economy to the complete bankruptcy through insane spending and to subsequent socialist or communist takeover. the press in the U.S. is as free as Stalinist Pravda.
Bergoglio, who is known as the people’s cardinal, who gave up his private automobile for public transportation, who cooks his own meals, is known as a people’s cardinal and has a huge following.
It will be an interesting time, to see possible realignment of forces in the aftermath of passing of Chavez and election of Bergoglio, Francis the 1st, as the next pope.

I disagree only with your implication that the press is constrained or intimidated by the administration. The press is liberal and a willing facilitator of the administration’s policies, ignoring, or glossing over mistakes, while only reporting news that’s beneficial. In that sense, they are a willing Pravda.

The press is constrained and intimidated by our executive in the USA. Certainly you do not disagree with that? Whether the Vatican has the same power as a U.S.A. President well… spiritually maybe?? Could Pope Francis I disagree with our Presidents secret sex life with Reggie Love even though we know this new Pope is anti-homosexual??? If you want to have credentials at the White House you are censored on this subject but the Pope could speak out or if you want openly gay Priests in the Roman Catholic Church can you speak out????

James davis Sr if you haven’t heard of John Hagee you might enjoy watching him. He comes on cable channel tbn. He is a nondenominational evangelical pastor. I watch that channel most of the time now. He’s always talking about Obama and the Muslim Brotherhood. His goal is to protect God and Jesus Christ. Then Isrial and the United States. Last week I looked at his Wiki. page and there on his Personal Beliefs was all about Obama and the Muslim Brotherhood but now that has been took down. His show only last 30 min. sometimes an hour. I was reading on his site that he baptizes people after the program, sometimes takes 3 hours b/c there are so many and he takes his time and does it right. I really like him and I bet you would. I’ve heard him mention the 10 Commandments judge. I know he’s talking about Judge Moore but he doesn’t mention his name. Orly he spends a lot of time in Isrial, maybe you’ve heard of him. I’ve thought about trying to call him and telling him about Orly but not sure I should. Look at his views on the disparity of wealth or on the implications of the kind of capitalism conservatives favor. His views in many respects are to the left of President Obama on this issue.

We are all free to believe in the Lord any way you wish; or not at all. But – you must allow others to believe any way they wish. But there is one exception. Or did he?

People quoted in Verbitsky’s book assert that during the Dirty War, Bergoglio, then a Jesuit leader, pressured two clerics in his order to cease their leftist teachings in a Buenos Aires slum. The book says that a decision to lift the order’s protection of the two men — Orlando Yorio and Franz Jalics — allowed the military to detain them at the Navy Mechanics School prison, the Army’s most notorious, for five months of deprivation.

Speaking of Religion, Chito, is not “odd” that Obama reportedly DID NOT EAT LOBSTER at a recent luncheon with elected officials, as, he stated, he had no “taster.”
Again, could the rumors of crypto-Islam with tendencies which could be Taqiyya-laced against America’s best interest be true?
Could it be a kind of “Absonderung,” in this case a cultural differentiation done with his volition under the guise of some other lame excuse, which signals to “jihadists” (Brennan already has been their apologist) that Barry is one of them?

Veritas, while I am unfamiliar with the specific incident to which you refer when President Obama did not eat lobster, there are many documented cases when he DID eat lobster: the Inaugural luncheon being one of the most highly publicized ones. It also was reported that he ate lobster tempura at a restaurant in the DMV previously. Apparently, your suspicions are unfounded, i.e., that his diet is based on Halal law.
