A Real Jerk

This is a letter that my good friend’s husband wrote today after his uncle’s funeral yesterday.
If Obama does not want his name associated with our military, too bad he wanted his name associated with “The President of the United States.”

Dear Sean,

Today I was incensed at the conclusion of a traditional Serbian-Orthodox funeral for my beloved 85 year old uncle, Daniel Martich, who proudly served in the US Army during The Korean Conflict. During the committal service at a Pittsburgh cemetery the local military detachment performed their ritual, then folded and presented the American Flag to my aunt. As I’m sure you have witnessed during military funerals, a soldier bends to one knee and recites a scripted message to a surviving relative that begins ‘On behalf of the President of the United States and a grateful nation, I wish to present you with this flag in appreciation for your husband’s service …’. However, today the dialogue was ‘On behalf of the Secretary of Defense and a grateful nation …’ After the service I approached the soldier who presented the flag to my aunt to inquire about the change in language. His response was “The White House notified all military funeral service detachments to immediately remove ‘the President’ and insert ‘the Secretary of Defense’. I couldn’t believe what I heard and the soldier smiled and said “You can draw your own conclusion sir but that was the order”. He, too, was ashamed of what he was required to say.

This president has taken off the gloves. My only response to this endless cesspool of Anti-American rhetoric dripping from his mouth is to borrow a phrase (with one minor change) uttered by another temporary Washington resident living in government housing: “Today for the first time in my adult life I was ASHAMED of my country”. I did not serve in the military but my love of country parallels that of people like my late uncle who bled Red, White and Blue. As a second generation Serbian-American who’s heritage produced many patriotic military men and women who fought for freedom both in The United States as well as in the former Yugoslavia (most recently in Kosovo against the slaughter of Serbs by Muslim extremists)

    I don’t understand why you are not applauding this. If Obama is a usurper and not really the President, as you contend, then SOMEONE had to offer the flag to the family. The highest ranking commander would be the Secretary of Defense. This incident would be “proof” that your legal theory is valid.

    So what’s your gripe?

    There’s no directive on way or another whether president should, should not, can or can not. There is suggested language not mandated language.

    The fact this person heard secretary of defense rather than president does not mean any directive has been issued to remove “president” from the language.

    i am a proud US citizen and i hate what this Liar has done to our country and it sickens me that not very many people is taking this seriously.what has happen to everyones brains?this,what Obama is doing to our Nation and to each and everyone in the United States is wrong.i am frighten for my kids and grandkids because they will not have any future unless we take a stand and say NO MORE OBAMA.we need some people that can pull strings and go through loops to get him out of office right
    now,not a year from now.i have been sending emails to my senators and congressman but it does not seem to do any good they are Dems and i know they like Obama.the on ly thing i got left is to pray that someone will come forword and lead the way to his removal.May GOD BLESS OUR NATION AND OUR MILITARY>

    My father was a disabled WW2 vet and when he passed away in 2001, George bush sent us several citations thanking my father for his service to our country. George Bush is a Vet.Bastard O-Bozo is not. He has no idea what service means.Screw him!

    There are no “Muslim extremists” in Kosovo, only natural-born Albanians who have lived there for millenia, and the murderers here have been the Serbian invaders who have tried to steal their land and exterminate them since October 1912.

    @hippy – little GW is a draft dodger who got his daddy to buy him a place in the National Guard so he could stay home and protect Texas from the Viet Cong. Unlike Senator Kerry, who stood up for his country and volunteered for combat duty.

    The derogatory papers about George Bush’s military career were PROVEN to be falsified, just like Obamao’s birth certificate is about to be.

    John Kerry lied about his military career several times, and undermined our mission in Viet Nam with more lies. Then he got all dressed up in a uniform after the war, went back with a film crew, and made home war movies! These are COLD HARD FACTS!

    Don’t forget about Bill Clinton running out of the country so he wouldn’t have to serve. Would you consider that draft dodging, or doesn’t that count since he’s a stinking liberal?

    You’re selective memory is laughable.

    One more thing about John Kerry,
    He is the ONLY known swiftboat soldier in the entire Viet Nam war, that was not seriously wounded, who did not complete the required 1 year tour. He begged to go home after only 4 months of duty there. Then he came home and lied about what went on over there.
    The reason we know he lied is that he ADMITTED to it later on. What a joke! He is no hero.

    Johnnie, Vincent is not telling the entire story. Kosovo is Orthodox Christian Holy Land. It was over 600 years ago that Serbian Prince Lazar and 75,000 of his Knights fought back the Turkish Caliphate from finishing the sacking of Europe. Those 75,000 men are buried on The Plains Of Kosovo.

    Another thing Vincent left out is, The Kosovo liberation Army[read Muslim Terrorists]was and are funded by the sale of Heroin in the world market place. Thats gentle readers, our children are being poisoned by drugs supplied by Terrorists. Don’t believe me? Look it up for yourselves.

    I mean seriously people. The field manual wording FROM 2007 was “This flag is presented on behalf of a grateful nation and the United States Army as a token of appreciation for your loved one’s honorable and faithful service.”

    Are you seriously going to say Obama is so powerful that he can rewrite the army manual years before becoming president?

    In August of last year, Navy Secretary Ray Mabus revoked retired Navy Captain Wade Sanders’ Silver Star. Sanders was a Swiftboat CIC in Vietnam and Kerry’s “Band of Brothers” spokesman during his 2004 campaign.

    Not true. If the President is in fact a Usurper, then “ALL” of his appointed staff members are null, including the VP.

    The Secretary of Defense is appointed, therefore a Usurper by fraud cannot appoint a legitimate cabinet member.

    William, can you not read? The words to be spoken come right out of the Army Field Manual, which was last revised in 2007. That was two years before Obama became our President. As noted above, Obama was not prescient enough to have the Army’s regulations re-written before he was sworn in.

    Wade Sanders, Kerry’s main swiftboat supporter, not only had his Silver Star revoked by the Navy, but he is also serving a 37 month prison term right now.

    It seems Mr. Sanders was caught red- handed with PLENTY of movies of adults having sex with children, on both his computers. Of course, his excuse was that he was doing research on the subject.

    Yeah, he’s pretty credible. Him and John Edwards both.

    Orly: Is Patty’s presenting of the actual suggested wording from the manual, revised in 2007, before Obama was president, also indication that she is also either brain dead or an evil obot?

    It would appear her facts support Francis Black’s statement.

    Even if at the funeral they heard the words they describe does not mean there’s been any change to the suggested wording during the flag presentation, and also since it was last revised in 2007 could not have been done so by Obama as president.

    That is a very simple fact pattern.

    apparently, according to many veterans, the custom was to include the words “From the US President”, it was done during Bush administration. I did not call Patti brain dead, but often people go further than the manual for veterans, who gave their limbs and lives for this country.

    Just to completely put this thread to its natural end:

    Anyone can easily look up the “United States flag manual”.

    Notice that it is copyright 2008. That is, it was written before Obama was president.

    Then notice that it gives the specific wording recommended for each branch (pg 26). Notice that the Army does not reference the president.
