> ACTION ALERT! Tell the Governor to Veto AB 131 & AB 1081 – REFERENDUM
> INFORMATION BELOW
>
> Fellow Patriots, I am writing you to alert you to two bills that are
quickly making their way through
> the Legislature – Assembly Bills 131 & 1081. Together they show a
complete disregard of our
> immigration laws. It is time for you to act by calling the Governor and
telling him how you feel
> about these bills. AB 131 passed out of a key Senate Committee today.
This measure will use
> your tax dollars to give Cal-Grants to illegal immigrant students, at the
same time as we are
> cutting classes and raising tuition for citizens. Please click here to
hear my discussion with John
> & Ken (KFI-AM 640) on AB 131.
>
> AB 1081, which will seriously endanger our communities, is eligible to be
heard by the Senate
> any day. After that, the Governor will make a decision on whether to sign
it. Make your voice
> heard; Call the Governor at (916) 445-2841.

> SACRAMENTO – Assembly Member Tim Donnelly, R-Twin Peaks, today released
the attached
> video and statement following passage of Assembly Bill 131 (Cedillo) from
the Senate
> Appropriations Committee. Assemblyman Donnelly implores citizens to call
the Governor and
> encourage him to veto both Assembly Bills 1081(Ammiano) and 131.
>
> “AB 131, the second part of the California “DREAM Act” is a nightmare for
citizens. Students are
> already struggling to pay increased tuition and many cannot even get into
the classes they need,
> but the Legislature continues to pretend we can afford this entitlement.
The simple truth is,
> everyone, including the Governor knows we can’t.
>
> “The fiscal impact of granting illegal alien students access to the State
funded Cal Grant on top
> of the in-state tuition rate already afforded them, is staggering.
Analysts estimate the cost to be
> in the tens of millions annually and say it is likely to increase over
time as the promise of
> inexpensive, high quality education draws more illegal immigration to the
State.
>
> “In another egregious attempt to circumvent our immigration laws, AB
1081, will expand
> sanctuary city policies, like those in San Francisco, to apply to whole
counties. This bill is
> disastrous. Governor Brown himself, when serving as California Attorney
General, spoke out
> about the significant danger to public safety this would pose.
>
> “Together, these measures show a complete disregard of our immigration
laws. It is imperative

and AB 1081.”

> AB 1081 is eligible to be heard on the Senate Floor. AB 131 passed out of
the Assembly
> Appropriations Committee today; if signed, Assemblyman Donnelly will file
a referendum.

When Maryland’s Democratic Governor and Congress tried to ram subsidised college educations for illegal immigrants down our throats earlier this year two times enough “We the people…” signed a petition, in-person at various public events all over the State and via the internet, to stop them in their tracks and make it a 2012 ballot referendum. Casa de Maryland filed suit claiming internet signators shouldn’t be counted (which would invalidate the petition) and the Maryland State Education Association (teachers union) and SEIU Local 1199 are supporting Casa de Maryland.
