Dear Orly,

Today, I received the attached SSA Certified SSN application form and Numident for Jean Paul Ludwig.  Now we know Jean was a male.

If you want to be able to read the box number labels on Jean Paul’s application form, look at Lucille Ballantyne’s application form-they are identical, can’t read the form number.

[Orly. This Jean Ludwig is not the 2 yr old boy who arrived in New York on the ship ‘Munchen’ in Aug 1893 from Germany, that boy’s father was named Otto Ludwig. Darn, I thought it had looked like a good match.]

Box #11 says “NO” to “ever before applied for or had a Social Security or Railroad Retirement Number?”  His original CYD: must have been Jan, 1951.

Jean Paul Ludwig, male, was born in Ammersville, Alsace, France.  His father’s name was Jean Paul Ludwig.  His mother’s maiden name was Elise Eissen Schmit.

He applied for SSN in 1951 at age 60, when he was working for Hon. D. A. Reed, Dan’s Highway, PO 458, New Canaan, Conn.  New Canaan is near Norwalk and Stamford in Fairfield County.

He listed his own address as PO Box 458, New Cannan, Conn (same as his employer).  Dan’s Hwy, New Canaan, CT today has mansions for sale on large acreages ranging from $5 to $10 million.

So, he was presumably living in CT on Jan 4, 1951.
He was working for a judge?? then, at age 60.

I am not sure whether the ETC:L  L=Life Claim code on the numident refers to his 1951 application, or to the CYD: 09/03/1976 correction.
Not sure whether the numident DOA: Stamford Conn refers to the 1951 applicatgion or to the 1976 correction.
He was living in Honolulu, HI when he died in June 1981, age 91.

Hmmmmmm.  Worked for a judge??, some kind of SSA activity Sept, 1976 (within the time range for usurper), moved to Honolulu, maybe worked for a judge?? again, and died there.  I wonder what year he moved to Honolulu?

I wonder what happened on 09/03/1976 to trigger the SSN correction.
Whatever it was, he died 5 years later in HI in June, 1981.
I wonder if he ever worked for a Probate judge?

    Wife’s name was Florence and same address, according to his draft card, which I emailed you. I also emailed you the passenger list to HI, but it appears his name was crossed off and marked ‘cancelled’. ??????

    Maybe his sister was Florence, and she, never married, died in 1951.
