I keep wondering about this. What about all of the time LTC Lakin was in prison awaiting his trial. Isn’t this prison time usually taken into account of time served and deducted from his sentence? If so, LTC Lakin should be a FREE MAN today as he as served his six months.

he was notin prison, he worked as a doctor in Walter Read hospital while he awaited trial

Where are the Joint Chiefs? Are they so afraid of being called a birther that they will stand by as one of their finest does time in prison to cover up high treason? I am sure they did not get to where they are now by being afraid of name calling. Neither did they get to where they are by being yellow bellied cowards afraid to ask the president to show proof of his eligibility. But there you have it. Two years, and no action on their part. There is still time for them to redeem their integrity and their honor by stepping up to the plate and protect and defend Article 2 Section 1 as the gave their solemn oath to do. They gave this oath of their own free will before God and man. Surely God will judge them on the integrity of their word, their honor and their actions to back up them up. Maybe they need to be reminded that their oath was not to the President but to a higher authority…the Constitution, and in the presence of an even higher authority than that…God.

Military members do not have the same rights as non-military citizens in felony criminal trials. This needs to change. LTC Lakin is a victim of an unjust separate military justice system. This is what Commander Walter Fitzpatrick has been fighting the last decade.

I’m sure there was a detention facility on the east coast.

Orly: these are very good posts! And would like to ask Cpt Barnett if she can re-post? As the html didn’t work with my machine! Can this be revisited?
And I think she’s right about the law needs to be changed for the “circumstances” like Lakin facing a very difficult decision in the “treason” he faced! Each situation should be taken into consideration when having someone tried in court! And let’s hope that DADT isn’t going to add to the military morale problem(s)?
And think the other posters have a good grasp of the difficulty LTC Lakin has had to go through. The treason in the Pentagon seems to be the “crowning glory” in them not doing their job, to protect America against all enemies: “foreign and DOMESTIC!”
Let’s hope that Commander Kerchner was right about the New House to hold investigations into all sorts of things? And maybe the “dominos” will start to fall ALL OVER THE PLACE???

Maybe not afraid but they know which side of their bread the butter is on. To reach and maintain that level of rank one must have become a politician first, brave patriot second.
