| The DREAM Lingers On… |
On Wednesday night, the House narrowly passed its version of the DREAM Act. The Senate was ready to vote on its version of the bill, but Majority Leader Harry Reid used a procedural trick to put off the Senate vote so it could consider the House-passed version instead.
We now hear that the Senate will bring the House version up for a vote sometime next week, and we have plenty of actions you can take between now and then. The pro-DREAM advocates say they’ve put in more than 40,000 phone calls this week to Congress, and their goal is to hit 100,000. We need to beat their efforts every step of the way!
Visit your Action Board and make sure you send newly posted faxes, urging your two U.S. Senators to oppose the DREAM act. Remember, the bill is already through the House so all attention must be focused on your Senators.
Then, call both your Senators and urge them to vote NO!

We know this DREAM Act battle has been a long, tough fight, but we can’t let up now! The pro-DREAM supporters know this may be their last chance!

| We Had The Amnesty Beat In The Senate This Morning But Now Have To Hold The Line Another Week |
 |
| By Roy Beck, Thursday, December 9, 2010 |
First, something that virtually everybody concedes — If the Senate had voted this morning (as had been promised), the DREAM Act amnesty would have been defeated. So, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid decided to buy another week of pro-amnesty lobbying from the White House and the rich pro-amnesty advocacy groups. Many news outlets immediately put out reports that the amnesty bill was now dead. But not so fast. The news is not that good . . .

No group pushes the buttons of Congress like NumbersUSA! You members have ordered 872,000 faxes on the DREAM Act since the debate began in earnest last month. But the fight is not over. Help us to continue our string of victories against amnesty. We need you to continue to fight with us to achieve our goals.

| DREAM Arguments Pull at Heartstrings But Ignore Commonsense |

The passage of the DREAM Act in the House on Wednesday makes me think how quickly we forget to be thankful after Thanksgiving. Instead of being thankful for the education and other opportunities they have already received, potential beneficiaries of the DREAM Act amnesty are asking for more. More education, more jobs, more benefits, and everything else that comes with amnesty and American citizenship.

| House’s Last Hurrah For Open Borders Not Too Impressive |

For two years, we have heard that if House Speaker Pelosi allowed a vote on the DREAM Act amnesty that it would sail through her 60% majority chamber. Almost at the end of the Congress and her Speakership, she finally allowed the vote and did win but not too impressively. Here are the Republicans who voted FOR amnesty and the Democrats who voted AGAINST amnesty . . .

| American Legion Urges Senate to Oppose DREAM Act |
 |
| Friday, December 10, 2010 |
The American Legion sent a letter to the U.S. Senate urging them to oppose the DREAM Act Amnesty, saying the bill rewards crime. If the version already passed by the House is passed by the Senate, it would offer up to 2.1 million illegal aliens an amnesty by meeting educational or military requirements.

| Congress Votes Today on Millions of 10-Year Work Permits for Illegal Aliens |
 |
| By Roy Beck, Wednesday, December 8, 2010 |
When the House and Senate (presumably) vote this afternoon, I think it is important to frame the issue in terms of giving out millions of additional 10-year work permits. You see, even people who don’t qualify in the first place or who do qualify for the provisional amnesty but never meet the educational criteria later — all of them can get a 10-year work permit from the start. Are any of the pro-DREAM amnesty supporters thinking about that? Here’s how it would work . . .

| 12 Days Until Christmas Ends Amnesty Threat |
 |
| By Roy Beck, Friday, December 3, 2010 |
Essentially, there are 12 legislative days until Christmas ends the amnesty threat. The title of this blog is the name of our remaining grassroots mobilization campaign of the year. Our activist members will be working through these 12 days to make 2010 the 9th year in a row that the grassroots will have completely killed off all attempts to pass any kind of amnesty. It now looks like next Wednesday is the next day that an amnesty vote is being threatened.
