More info re ballots

I got info that they might be rotating standing on the ballots, however this provides more questions than answers.
1. if they are rotating, than I would see 50/50 ballots with first and second position, however I see many more of one kind than another.
2. when the mail-in ballots are coming in and they ae fed into the machine, do they reset the machine? How are those ballot counting machines programmed?
3. if the machines are trademark protected, how can we verify the veracity of the count and programming?

Not necessarily. They are rotated per Assembly district. Some districts span multiple counties, while others are just a part of a county. So, depending on the voter turnout in a particular district, you are liable to see more of one type of ballot represented than the other type- it will not be a 50/50 split. Now as far as the FORMAT of the ballots ( not he actual number ), there should have been 40 with you on top and 40 with Dunn on top – since there are 80 Assembly Districts in CA.

Mail in ballots are different from the ballots cast at the polls. I assume that CA used punch ballots ( the pic of the Gov. having to recast his showed him holding a punch ballot ). Mail in ballots are either the type where you fill in a circle with a No. 2 pencil, or you just put a check mark in a box. In the case of the pencil type, they are read by a different type of scanner than those that read the punch type ballots. For the type where you check off a box, they have to be counted by hand.

not necessarily. we need to call and check. I believe they use optical scanners. we need to know howare those programmed
