    CUIL

    for an alternative. As far as I can tell from their site, they don’t appear to be as far left as Google.

    The best search engine, in my opinion, is Ixquick. It doesn’t store your IP address or any searches you do. You have to use Google to get to Ixquick. After that, Google can’t see anything you’re doing.

    I have also heard of Metacrawler as a search engine but have not used it.

    I read that the search engine that is better than google is http://www.ixquick.com.

    I think the one I read about is Startpage.com.
    Hope this helps.
