In far left circles it is widely acknowledged that this otherwise little known institution, since its “official founding” in 1932 by Myles Horton, Don West, and James Dombrowski, has trained many thousands of radical leftist “leaders” (research proves it is a direct continuation of Marxist/communist “Commonwealth College”, Mena, Arkansas —- https://www.arkansaspreservation.com/historic-properties/_search_nomination_popup.aspx?id=432). Though they attempt to hide it, there’s no question that the center has always maintained strong communist ties. A prime example is long time affiliate and supporter Pete Seeger (musician), who admits he joined the Communist Party in 1942.
